Are There Any Home Remedies for Acne?

How can your microwave and a bowl of lemons help you to achieve
clear skin? Read on.

There are several effective home remedies for acne. One of the best
secret natural cures for acne is found in your refrigerator-- a bowl
of lemons.

How do lemons help to cure acne? The secret lies in understanding
what causes acne. Acne is caused by bacteria trapped in skin pores.
Once trapped, the bacteria inflames the pores, causing swelling,
redness and sores.

How does lemon juice help? Lemons are acidic. In fact, in the
centuries before the discovery of penicillin, people used home
remedies to sterilize, such as lemons and
vinegar.

Many of today's expensive acne remedies also use acid in some
form or another to kill off acne-causing bacteria.

A word of caution. Don't overdue it. Lemon is acidic, so it can
cause redness in sensitive skin. Your best strategy is to try out
lemon juice on a small area or pimple first, using a cotton tip. It
ordinarily takes a few days to work.

For best results, open the pores of your face first with a steam facial.

If you can't get a steam facial at a spa, you can just steam open your
pores as you take a relaxing bubble bath.

Another tried and true home remedy for blemishes and breakouts is
toothpaste. Apply a dab of toothpaste directly on the breakout.
Leave it on for several hours. Rinse with warm water and a rough
cloth with mild soap. Rinse again with warm water. Final rinse with
cold water to close your pores.

To control oily skin that promotes breakouts, try these tricks

1.Use a clay mask once a week.

2. Microwave Your Face Cloth.  Yes, we said
microwave. As we
said before, acne is caused by bacteria. You introduce the bacteria
by touching your face or picking at blemishes.
One of the worst
hidden sources of bacteria is your face cloth
. Avoid using a face
cloth more than 2 days in a row. If you must use it again , rinse it
with warm water and microwave it for 2 minutes to kill the bacteria.
Let it cool down before another use.

3. Cleanse our body of toxins. Do a
body cleanse once a month to
get rid of the toxins which, unfortunately, have become a part of our
food supply (pesticides, preservatives, additives).

Following these home tips, and eating a
diet that supports your skin
health, should help you to achieve blemish free skin in no time!

Now, you know exactly 1/2 of what you need to know in order to
create an effective basic daily face cleaning routine. Here is the
